Happy 21st Birthday Zac!!

Where is Zac on his 21st birthday? He's still in Cajamarca where he will stay until he finishes his mission in 22 days! Here's a map that shows exactly where he is:

This past week the missionaries in the Cajamarca Zone met early one morning to play soccer.
Ready for some serious competition

After soccer they boarded a bus to go visit a lagoon high up in the Andes Mountains.
(Zac always seems to look away right when a picture is taken!)

They enjoyed the scenery and played some volleyball.
Zac is in black with his back to the camera. (sigh)

Standing on a reed boat with President Marler and some of the other missionaries.
Not sure if Zac is singing or simply making entertaining commentary
A group picture before getting back to missionary work.

**If anyone missed sending Zac an email in time for his birthday today
we know he'd still appreciate a belated one so send him an email today!

Sushi!

Another reason to love Cajamarca--great sushi!

P-day at Granja Porcon

Granja Porcon is a combination zoo and cooperative farm a couple of hours from Cajamarca

Visit to Ventanillas de Otuzco

The Cajamarcas preceded the Incas and housed their dead in these little tombs cut out of volcanic rock.  They mummified the dead in a sitting position and buried them in these tombs.

Learning about the dead leads to contemplation about the meaning of life

Baptisms

Zac and his new companion Elder Cabezas were so happy
when Caroline and Karla decided to be baptized. It was a wonderful day.
