Baptism of an Amazing Family

The Castillo Family Got Baptized on Saturday!

Zac and his companion Elder Newman were so excited to find
this special family and to participate in their baptism
which helps brings them to Christ.

The members of the Chan Chan Ward are so supportive of the missionary efforts there.  The missionaries love the people in this ward!

A Shocking Discovery

Zac's sisters both had babies on the same day this past week.
This is his reaction.  He went from 2 nieces to 4 in one day.
(Notice the Big Foot tie).

Tear Down This Wall

Zac and his companion, Elder Newman, helped a family tear down an adobe wall
that needed to be demolished.  It was hard work to destroy it with little more than their
bare hands and a hammer but they did it. ( I'm sure Zac donned the dust mask simply
for the photo op to make his mother feel better.)

Multi-Zone Conference

Zac had another great week but had no pictures to send yesterday. Found these pictures on the mission blog:
Zac is in the front row on the left sitting next to Elder Newman.
Picture of the Central, Primavera and Casa Grande Zones.
Zac is in the back center.

New Address and Halfway There!

Because of tremendous growth, the Trujillo Peru Mission has been reorganized into the Trujillo North Mission and the Trujillo South Mission.  Zac is in the Peru Trujillo North Mission and has a new mailing address:

Elder Zachary Farnsworth
Misión Perú Trujillo Norte
Teodoro Valcárcel #512
Urb. Primavera
Trujillo, La Libertad
PERÚ

This will be his address for the rest of the time he is on his mission.  The dearelder.com site now charges for letters so the only way to reach him for free is to email him at:

 zachary.farnsworth@myldsmail.net

This is the only email address he can use to send and receive messages while he's gone and he is only able to check his email on Mondays. (Mailing a letter to Peru costs $1.20.)

365 days ago Zac left for Peru!  Tomorrow starts year number two.  The internet was too slow for him to send any pictures this week but he had a great week and is doing well. We hope to have some pictures to post on Monday.

Fixing Roofs Peruvian Style

Standing on ladders to help fix a roof
(Glad we didn't know about this until after the fact)

Maybe this isn't such a good idea

Finally got it in place without falling

At least Zac had a ladder.
Things weren't looking too good for Elder Newman
at one point but he finally made it to the ground in one piece.

First Baptism in Chan Chan

This is a picture of Zac with his new companion
Elder Newman at their first baptism in Chan Chan
on Saturday.  It was a wonderful day with Sister Erica.
The Sister missionaries also had a baptism on Saturday.

Lunch from Gringo Loco after a zone meeting last week.
