Zac had another great week but had no pictures to send yesterday. Found these pictures on the mission blog:
Zac is in the front row on the left sitting next to Elder Newman.

New Address and Halfway There!

Because of tremendous growth, the Trujillo Peru Mission has been reorganized into the Trujillo North Mission and the Trujillo South Mission.  Zac is in the Peru Trujillo North Mission and has a new mailing address:

Elder Zachary Farnsworth
Misión Perú Trujillo Norte
Teodoro Valcárcel #512
Urb. Primavera
Trujillo, La Libertad
PERÚ

This will be his address for the rest of the time he is on his mission.  The dearelder.com site now charges for letters so the only way to reach him for free is to email him at:

 zachary.farnsworth@myldsmail.net

This is the only email address he can use to send and receive messages while he's gone and he is only able to check his email on Mondays. (Mailing a letter to Peru costs $1.20.)

365 days ago Zac left for Peru!  Tomorrow starts year number two.  The internet was too slow for him to send any pictures this week but he had a great week and is doing well. We hope to have some pictures to post on Monday.

Fixing Roofs Peruvian Style

Standing on ladders to help fix a roof
(Glad we didn't know about this until after the fact)

Maybe this isn't such a good idea

Finally got it in place without falling

At least Zac had a ladder.
Things weren't looking too good for Elder Newman
at one point but he finally made it to the ground in one piece.

First Baptism in Chan Chan

This is a picture of Zac with his new companion
Elder Newman at their first baptism in Chan Chan
on Saturday.  It was a wonderful day with Sister Erica.
The Sister missionaries also had a baptism on Saturday.

A Great First Week in Chan Chan

The first week in Chan Chan ended on a high note with the dedication of the new temple in Trujillo.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, dedicated the Church’s 147th temple on Sunday, June 21. Following the dedication, he invited several Peruvian youth to help place mortar around the cornerstone of the temple.

This is a picture of Zac's new companion, Elder Newman, in what Zac describes as their "garage shack." Comparing Zac's bottom bunk with Elder Newman's top bunk it's easy to see some of the differences between the Stanford and the West Point philosophies.  Nevertheless, these two have hit if off great and share a similar sense of humor.

Glam shot of Zac with his new Yoda birthday tie.

From Granados to Chan Chan

Last Tuesday, Zac said goodbye to people he will miss in Granados and headed to his new area of Chan Chan.

He will miss his good friend Elder Connelly.

He will also miss Miguel who has been a great friend to the missionaries

Thank You For the Birthday Wishes and Pictures!

Zac thanks all of the family and friends who sent birthday
wishes his way this week.  He loved the crazy pictures
and greetings! This is a picture of him yesterday at the internet cafe.
Today he is leaving Granados and heading to Chan Chan.
The only thing we know about his new companion is that he
played football at West Point.  We'll have more info next week.
