Pouch
The Church provides a system to send letters and postcards to missionaries that are in areas with less-than-trustworthy mailing systems. This is the easiest and safest way to get mail to Zac. The Church uses a bulk mail system to gather mail together for a weekly delivery. On average, Zac should receive your mail within about 2 weeks. Sometimes it could take a little longer, depending on where he is at the time.
Send to:
Elder Zachary Farnsworth
PERU TRUJILLO MISSION
P.O.Box 30150
Salt Lake City, UT 84130-0150
Post cards have no special instructions. Just mail your post card to the address above and it will be delivered to Zac in Peru. Letters must be on a single sheet, folded into three-panels, and taped at the top only. No envelopes may be sent through the pouch (see image below).
Dear Elder Service
Dear Elder is a service that sends Zac letters free of charge. Basically it uses the pouch system above but saves you the trouble of mailing the letter. Plus, you don’t have to buy a stamp.
Go to dearelder.com. Click “Pouch” in the sidebar on the left under “Send Stuff.” In the Drop Down Menu, locate the “Peru Trujillo” Mission. Click “Write a Missionary.” Enter your return address information, as well as Elder Zachary Farnsworth in the correct fields. Type your letter in the space block and click send. That’s it! Letters are printed and delivered to the mission office weekly. Cut off is Sunday night at midnight for that week’s batch of letters. Letters are generally in Peru by the next week, but have to be hand-delivered to missionaries away from the mission office.
Zac will be in the Peru MTC (Missionary Training Center) for the next six weeks so if you want to write a letter to him there you can choose Peru MTC in the drop down menu. Just switch over to Trujillo 3 weeks from now in order to be sure he gets your letter.
